Sylva is a small town nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina that has been around since 1889. It is, in general, a quiet little place, although a university is seated just a few minutes down the road. It is filled with waterways and is close to its history, with the historic courthouse remaining in its spot upon a hill and preserved. It is also a stronghold of local crafts, including a farmers' market, downtown shops selling locally made items, and a brewery in downtown.
